The Panch Pokhari trek is a pristine, less-crowded journey leading to five sacred glacial lakes located at 4,100 meters inside the Langtang National Park. It combines a deep cultural experience—as a famous pilgrimage site for Hindu and Buddhist devotees—with stunning panoramic views of the Jugal and Dorje Lakpa mountain ranges.
Arrive in Kathmandu and prepare for the trip
Drive from Kathmandu to Bhotang Village (1,800m / 5,905ft)—about a 7 to 9-hour jeep or bus ride.
Trek from Bhotang Village to Nasimpati (3,700m / 12,139ft)—about 6 to 7 hours of walking through uphill forest paths.
Trek from Nasimpati to Panch Pokhari (4,100m / 13,451ft)—a shorter 3 to 4-hour hike to reach the holy lakes and local rest houses.
Explore the nearby viewpoint (4,300m) for Jugal Himal views, then trek back down toward Bhotang or Tangu Kharka.
Trek back to Bhotang village (if staying higher on Day 5) and catch a return drive back to Kathmandu.
